I love you but not in that way
I love you but not in that way. This could be a commonly heard not-so-favourite dialogue for a lot of men and women out there. Isn’t loving someone a pretty straight forward thing? Well sadly, many people like to complicate things in life, including me.
Why is there so much of drama revolving around love?
Love has always been an unclear mysterious puzzle to me. I reckon that peer pressure is one of the predominant reasons for people to go against their hearts. Sometimes it feels like there is no way out in love. Maybe love is more complex than what I imagine it to be. Maybe love is just like a huge black hole that exists in space. If you fall into it, you can never return back. Henceforth, people analyse and calculate before they make the move. OK. I think I can become a lyricist with the amount of doubts and confusions I have in my head now!
‘Love is blind’ is so yesterday! I’m pretty sure people go through the “checklist” before getting into a committed relationship. And I’m not sure whether or not it is good.
Money, fame, religion, caste, traditions, you name it! Everything is a belief and man-made. If these qualities do good to people’s lives, then it should not be a hinderance in love and happiness too. It is not easy to own a set of rules when the world around you demands you to be one of them. But remember, anything that kills you within or compromises YOUR happiness is definitely not worth it at the end. Let us try to be less complicated in love and not be very “safe” with words.
It should either be
I love you but not in that way.
or
Let’s be friends.
