I cried my eyes out

Do this when you are feeling low – Life hack

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Today there are many people who go through extreme mood swings due to stress, depression. And it has got even worse after lockdown and self quarantine. I woke up feeling so low, completely lost this morning for no reason and I felt the need to pen down my thoughts and tips to cheer up people who go through the same. Mental health is as important as your physical wellbeing and some people do not realise it anymore. So spare a couple of minutes and read the following tips to help yourself and your loved ones next time.

Talk to your well-wisher

It could be your parent, friend, best friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, you name it! Just give them a call and let them know about your feelings today. If you are too shy to share your thoughts, talk about the good, funny and tiff memories that both of you shared together. You will feel a lot better. Make sure you talk to them until you feel you’re OK.

Take a break

Let it be your work-from-home schedule, Netflix, workout, cooking or resting, just take a break! Try doing something different today. If you attend zoom meetings or classes everyday, watch your favourite movie or the show that everyone is talking about. And if you are almost done with all the famous shows and series, go watch the sunset in your terrace or outside (i.e. by following social distancing). Trust me, it creates a huge difference.

You are not alone

Do not think you are probably the only person who feel this way. Everyone has struggles that are NOT visible through their social media posts. Depression, struggling with low self esteem, self doubts, failures and finally finding the light at the end of the tunnel are all part of life.

Patience is key

Give yourself some time. If you cannot recover immediately, do not try too hard to change your mood. Remember it is a natural phenomenon, so go with the flow. Nobody is asking you to be a Buddha, but a little patience can make you feel better and get you back on feet.

This, too, shall pass

Believe everything is only temporary. Unexplainable feelings, troubles and problematic phases are like passing clouds, and so is self quarantine. Rise and shine.
