A DREAMARE: Chapter 4

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Chapter 4

Busted!

Sakura disconnected the call. She closed hands over her mouth and started shaking. There were 2 missed calls in her phone. She pulled herself together and answered the phone when it rang for the third time.

“Hello?”

“It’s very rude to hang up on someone Sakura.”

She lost her cool and asked, “How did you know that I didn’t sleep last night?”

“I wasn’t able to share the dream and thats how I found out.”

“Shut up!” she screamed. “Nobody except my mom knows that I stayed awake all night!”

“You got to believe me, I’m not a bad guy! Just a man with this.. weird super power haha.”

“Why are you doing this to me?! Why do you want to share dreams with me?”

“Good question. It was always random people in the beginning. I clicked with you once and my life has changed so much since then.. I chose to share dreams with you over and over again. There is something special about you and your dreams Sakura.”

Her stored tears continued to flow and the sobs wracked her body, robbing it of the ability to speak.

“Ok, I don’t want to overwhelm you with all these details. Let’s have a normal conversation,” he paused. “Sakura?”

She broke down and sobbed like a child, “I have 100 questions in my head! I just can’t!”

“Stop crying! You’re lucky! You’re not going to have nightmares anymore. You will soon know how to share dreams with people.”

Tears burned her eyes and her lip lower trembled uncontrollably, “But how?”

“I’ll tell you when we we meet, I promise. You must go to work now, it’s getting late. I’ll call you tomorrow. Take care,” he hung up the phone before she could say a word.

Sakura pinched herself to make sure it was not all a dream. She has always been a headstrong girl despite having pampered by her mother. When she just started to live her teenage life, her father passed away. Since then, she has lived with depression. She decided to take a day off from work. She laid in bed, staring at the ceiling, “Is he an illuminati?”

It was almost noon and Afra wriggled through the half closed door, “Are you going to stay in your room all day?”

“I’ve taken a day off from work,” Sakura answered without making an eye contact and continued watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S on her laptop.

“Look, you’re a strong and smart girl. Please don’t let anything devour your happiness. It’s not worth your time.”

“Uh-huh,” she shook her head and her focus back on laptop.

“And I forgot to tell you something. Razia had called in the morning when you were out for a walk.”

Sakura’s attention quickly wore off from her most favourite series. She then grabbed her phone that was lying in bed and scanned through the call history. “So the call went on for 3 minutes,” she thought. “Razia, you’re so busted!”
