Chapter 3

A dream Sharer

She was notified on call waiting again. It showed up as UNKNOWN.

“Oh my..” -Sakura froze in shock- “Razia, I’ll call you back in a while!”

She answered the call, “Hello.”

“How was your day Sakura? Hope you had fun,” he said in the intriguing deep voice.

“Who are you? This is not funny anymore and stop all this!”

“I’m CJ.”

“CJ, who? Why are you doing this to me, you coward!”

“Calm down. We shared the same dream last night. We’ve met in a couple of other dreams as well.”

Sakura wanted to sound brave despite all the crazy fears in her head. “Are you out of your mind? You are a sick person and I think you need help. There is no such thing as sharing dreams or fantasies!”

“I’m very much sane and healthy.” He paused for a moment. “A couple of months ago, you dreamed that you’re travelling to Singapore. There was a guy who sat next to you in the aisle seat.”

Sakura was astonished and couldn’t believe what she heard. “You are.. kidding me!”

“Haha I wish I was. But..that guy in the aisle seat was me. And oh wait.. there is one more too. You had a tattoo done in another dream and the tattoo artist was me. You have shared a lot of dreams with me Sakura.”

She was more scared and nervous now. “That’s not true!”

“Trust me, we will share tonight’s dream too.”

“No.” She tried her best to sound normal despite her trembling voice, “You’re lying!”

“I’ll call you back tomorrow Sakura. Sweet dreams.”

The call was disconnected. Sakura stood in shocked silence. She was not sure about telling this to her mom and stayed awake the whole night as she did not want to dream about anything.

She was in bed, thinking about her previous dreams. “How did he get them right?” She watched documentaries on Netflix to keep herself distracted. It was 7 am in the morning. She put her phone away to charge and decided to take a stroll in the nearby park. She informed her mom and started out to walk.

Afra went in Sakura’s room to make the bed. She loved pampering her only daughter ever since she lost her husband in a tragic car accident. Sometimes she comes off as a little too nosey. Sakura’s phone rang up and Afra answered on the very first ring, “Hello?”

Razia on the other end of the line, “uh aunty, Razia here! Where is Sak?”

“She’s gone out for a walk. How did the dinner go yesterday?”

“Great! Didn’t she tell you about it?”

“No, she didn’t talk a word about it. I’m afraid she didn’t sleep last night. She was on laptop at 4 am when I went in her room to check on her. Hope everything’s fine between you both.”

“Don’t worry aunty, I’ll talk to her in sometime. Bye aunty!”

“Alright. Bye darling.” Afra disconnected the call and carried on with her work.

Sakura reached home and entered the bathroom to take a quick shower. Her phone on the dressing table rang up. She was nervous as she approached the table. It was Unknown.

Sakura answered the phone. “Hello, let’s not waste time! Just go ahead, tell me what I dreamed about last night!” she said in a very stern voice.

“Good Morning Sakura. You must be really tired. You can’t dream unless you sleep”

Her heart just stopped.
